About Perth's Taxis
There are three large taxi companies in Perth. These are: Independent Taxis, Black and White Taxis and the Swan Taxis. All the taxis operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are meter operated by time and distance. You can book a taxi ahead of time by phone or over the Internet. This is recommended in order to avoid delays, especially on weekends. If you like, you can also hail a taxi on the streets or at taxi ranks found all over the city, at the airport, popular nightspots and shopping centers.
You can tell if a taxi is vacant by a lighted sign on the roof. If you ever get stuck in the city without a taxi in sight, all you have to do is look for the nearest taxi rank and these will most likely be well serviced even during busy periods.
The ride from the international airport to the city is around thirty minutes and the charge is around $20 to $26.
The trip from the domestic airport to the city is approximately twenty minutes and will cost you around $16 to $20. Taking the taxi is cheaper than catching an airport shuttle bus if there are more than two travelers. A ground transport service fee is charged and payable for buses, taxis as well as pre booked limos leaving the airport.
If you ever feel like spoiling yourself the next time you go out for that special evening and arrive in style, limousines can be hired at reasonable rates in Perth, especially for larger groups.
